The Core ServiceYour Image Remains Yours: SilaMento does not apply filters, color adjustments, face-tuning, or AI enhancements to your photo. The only change we make is cropping to fit our square canvas, and you approve that crop in your digital proof before anything is printed.Recreating the World Around It: Our design engine leaves your image completely untouched. We artistically recreate the physical world around your photo - an original rendering grounded in the real coordinates, timestamp, and atmospheric conditions unique to your memory.2. No-Refund Policy for Custom/Bespoke Goods
Because every SilaMento asset is dynamically generated and printed based on your unique coordinates, timestamps, and personal imagery, all sales are final.Pursuant to applicable consumer protection laws regarding customized, bespoke, or made-to-order goods, products cannot be returned, exchanged, or refunded once production begins.If your physical print arrives damaged during transit or exhibits a manufacturing defect, you must notify us within 14 days of delivery with photographic proof, and we will issue a replacement print at no additional cost.3. Customer Image Submissions & Intellectual Property Indemnification
When you upload an image (a "Moment") to our platform, you retain full ownership of your photograph. However, by uploading, you guarantee that:You own the copyright to the image or have explicit, legal permission to print it.Indemnification: You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless SilaMento and its operators from any claims, damages, liabilities, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from a breach of this warranty, including any third-party claims of copyright infringement or privacy violations.We reserve the absolute right to cancel any order containing text or imagery that we deem hateful, illegal, defamatory, or intentionally harmful.4. Your photograph and your words remain yours. The SilaMento name, design system, layouts, map styles, and iconography are the property of SilaMento, LLC. Your purchase includes the physical artwork for personal display. It does not include the design files, and SilaMento designs may not be reproduced, resold, or used commercially without our written consent.5. Limitation of Liability & Warranty Disclaimer
SilaMento pulls geographic, solar altitude, and atmospheric metadata corresponding to your specified timestamp and location coordinates.To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our services are provided on an "As Is" and "As Available" basis without warranties of any kind.While our system strives for absolute tracking accuracy, our prints are artistic ledger recreations of a personal moment, not certified scientific or military-grade cartography telemetry. SilaMento is not liable for minor variations in global mapping datasets or third-party weather API records.6. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

Does SilaMento use AI on my photo?* No. Your photograph itself is never touched by artificial intelligence - what you upload is placed into your SilaMento piece exactly as it is, with only the trimming needed to fit our signature square canvas. To recreate the physical world around that moment - its coordinates, timestamp, and atmospheric conditions - our system does generate an original artistic rendering of that surrounding environment. Your photo is never part of that process; it's layered in afterward, completely unaltered.Then what is Silas?* Silas is our AI writing companion, built to help you find the words for your moment. If you're staring at the upload screen unsure how to title your SilaMento or put the story into words, Silas can suggest a Title and a Narrative based on what you tell it - you can use its suggestion as-is, edit it, or write your own from scratch. Silas's role begins and ends with language. It never sees, touches, or influences the image itself.Why use an AI assistant for something so personal?* Because the hardest part of a SilaMento is rarely the photo - it's finding the words that do the moment justice. Silas is there so a blank text field never gets in the way of anchoring your memory. The final Title and Narrative are always yours to accept, edit, or rewrite.4. Are the product images on the website exactly what I will receive?Images shown on our website are high-resolution digital renderings for illustrative purposes and do not depict the exact physical dimensions of the final 12-inch X 12-inch canvas mounted inside a floater frame. Because every SilaMento layout is built custom around your specific geographic location and photo proportions, slight design variations occur naturally to keep the typography perfectly balanced and clear.Additionally, because your memory is preserved on a premium, textured museum-grade canvas rather than a slick piece of photo paper, the final print will have a softer, artistic, and more tactile look. What if my favorite photo doesn't have metadata?No problem! Can the text wrap to multiple lines if my story is long?Yes, but to protect the premium design style of the canvas, custom narratives are limited to 30 words or less. Most modern smartphone photos are perfect for a SilaMento. Because we print on a textured museum-grade canvas, it naturally accommodates standard resolutions beautifully. If our design team notices that your image resolution is too low for a crisp 12x12 print, we will reach out to you during the sample approval process to discuss options.11. Do you ship internationally?Currently, we only ship across the United States. We plan to expand to international shipping soon.12. What happens if my SilaMento is damaged during shipping?Because every SilaMento is made for you alone, all sales are final. However, your peace of mind is our priority. If your package arrives damaged in transit or features a manufacturing defect, simply notify us within 14 days of delivery with photographic proof, and we will rush a replacement print to you at zero additional cost.13. What types of photos or videos might be rejected during the curation process?To ensure every SilaMento canvas meets museum-grade standards and complies with intellectual property laws, uploaded media may be flagged or rejected if it includes:* Prominent Commercial Logos or Trademarks: Unlicensed, large commercial logos, corporate slogans, or branded graphics (e.g., prominent athletic brand logos, commercial storefronts, or official collegiate team emblems) that dominate the image frame.* Low-Resolution or Extremely Blurry Files: Images below 1000 X 1000 pixels or files with severe digital compression/pixelation that will not render crisply at a 12 X 12 inch physical print scale.* Extreme Lighting Distortion: Photos with severe overexposure or underexposure, where key details are lost. Because we never edit your photo, we can’t recover them - we’ll let you know during proofing.* Prohibited Content: Explicit, copyrighted, or otherwise inappropriate imagery.14. How soon will I receive the proof for my commissioned SilaMento?Every SilaMento is built individually. Our studio computes and personally reviews your location, solar position, and atmospheric data before preparing your proof. Please allow 24–48 hours after submitting to receive your digital proof by email for approval.15. Why do you limit the number of SilaMentos each month?Every piece is proofed and reviewed individually, and that takes time we won’t rush. We accept up to [150] commissions per month. When a month fills, new commissions are scheduled into the next month’s release, and we’ll tell you your expected ship date before you pay.16. How accurate are the dates, coordinates, and telemetry?Where an exact historical record exists (the confirmed date, or a known site's coordinates), we use it. Where it doesn't - for example, a back-solved timestamp or an environmental reading like barometric pressure or wind - we calculate the closest documented estimate. Solar and lunar figures are computed directly from date, time, and location using standard astronomical formulas, so those are exact once the date is confirmed. Nothing is presented as a verified record when it's actually a best-fit approximation.
